One of the the most commonly said things - more working moms, more women in business. I am both and an advocate of this
Throughout my entire pregnancy, I floated in a dream-like state, where everything unfolded smoothly like a ballet. I see how life has changed after my baby. Life abruptly jolted me out of that blissful state. It's not a motherly care that comes about automatically. It's more like your thrown into this absolutely clueless on how next and then like any other journey, you figure out, you learn and through all of it, you constantly love
While work has it's dependencies, motherhood has more and how! The one common thing at work and home is the hustle with which we crack things. I have to give it to Furlenco for this. This place has not just taught me how to hustle, but be that working mom that could worry about everything else but work. The constant asks, demands and tantrums could be stressful. I look forward to coming to work to rest a bit and have my 'my time'. The people, this place and just the vibe gives me my sense of relief of being in a place I like and I call mine
But that's when the realty hits.. something that every mom has been gifted in abundance - "guilt". Guilt of taking a break!
While I feel strangely comfortable, I also feel a sense of time passing me by. My child less dependent on me.. and then I realize its always going to be like this - while I look forward to what's next, the sad feeling of the stage gone by.
And that’s when I know, I am a mother.
